Agnes Selia Himango, daughter of Isaac and Caroline (Syverson) Clifgard was born March 9, 1909 in Blue Mounds Township. She grew up and received her schooling in the Starbuck area. On November 22, 1941 she was united in marriage to Rudolph Himango. From this union 2 sons were born. The couple made their home on the farm where Agnes grew up. They lived on the farm until May of 2000 when Rudolph passed away and Agnes moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home. .
Agnes was a member of East Zion Lutheran Church in Starbuck where she enjoyed being a member of her circle. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club, Mothers Club and Birthday Club. She enjoyed Cooking, baking, crocheting, gardening and visiting with friends. She especial enjoyed spending time with her family.
Agnes passed away on January 21, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck having lived to reach the age of 99.
She is survived by her son: Ron (Judy) Himango of Starbuck; grandson: Ryan (Rebecca) Himango of Parker, Colorado; granddaughter Robin (Peter) Abrahamson of Eden Prairie; and two great-grandsons: Carter Isaac Himango and Graham Ryan Himango of Parker, Co; one nephew Isaac Clifgard of Missouri; one niece Audrey Moskowitz of England. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one infant son; one brother Clarence; and one nephew Curtis Clifgard. Pallbearers for the service are: Roger Tollefson, Roger Anderson, Bill Kennedy, Ronald Burnham, Don Tangen and Warren Hagestuen. Monica Gosseling will serve as organist for the service, with Arne Peterson serving as soloist. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
