Albert Christianson

Memorial services for Albert Christianson of Sauk Centre, Minnesota will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck, MN. Reverend Paul Johnson will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in Fron Lutheran Cemetery, near Starbuck.

Albert Junior Christianson, son of Albert and Pearl (Thompson) Christianson, was born November 10, 1931 in Terrace, Minnesota, where he was baptized on December 15, 1931 and confirmed on May, 1946. Albert received his schooling at country schools in Pope County, where he spoke Norwegian until learning the English language. Following his schooling, Albert farmed for a time and on June 11, 1955 he was united in marriage to Eloise Sundheim at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck by Reverend Rem. The couple lived in Pope County, where Albert worked at a cement factory, Landaas-Pederson Construction Company and later at the Jennie-O Turkey Plant in Melrose. He retired in 1968, and he and Eloise moved to Sauk Centre in 1978. In March of 2010, Albert moved to the St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, where he continued to live until the time of his death.

Albert enjoyed hunting deer and pheasants, fishing in the summer and winter, gardening and taking care of the lawn. He especially enjoyed watching sports with his kids and grandkids.

Albert passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the St. Michaels Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. He lived to reach the age of 80 years.

He is survived by his wife: Eloise Christianson of Sauk Centre; four children: Linda (Paul) Terwey of St. Cloud, Paul (Mary) Christianson of Savage, Earl (Ruth) Christianson of Eagan and Todd (Kandace) Christianson of Long Prairie; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son: Alan Christianson; his parents; seven brothers and five sisters.

Honorary pallbearers are Albert's grandchildren: Alissa Miller, Kimberly Erickson, Jordan Christianson, Krystle Christianson, Kathryn Christianson, Kurt Terwey, Tyler Christianson, Mackenzie Christianson, Graham Christianson, Gretchen Christianson, Travis Moen, Cortney Moen and Brittany Moen.
