Albert Henry Stahman, son of Peter and Anna (Wagner) Stahman, was born May 20, 1915 on the family farm in Synnes Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. Bud grew up on the family farm and received his education at a rural school in Synnes Township. Following his schooling, Bud worked on the family farm, eventually taking over the operation from his father. On June 10, 1949, he was united in marriage to Verna Oleson. Bud and Verna continued to live on the family farm until their retirement in 1976, when they moved into Morris. Bud and Verna loved traveling to Texas, and often found that the trip to Texas was just as much fun as the actual destination. On April 1, 2010, Bud became a resident of West Wind Village in Morris, where he enjoyed living and loved to banter with the staff.
Bud was a real sports enthusiast, and especially loved playing softball throughout his life. He also enjoyed hunting, and always had a soft spot in his heart for his dogs. Bud's family was always very important to him, as were his many wonderful neighbors. Bud's generosity and great sense of humor will never be forgotten, and he will truly be missed by those who knew him.
Bud died on Monday, June 6, 2011 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 96 years.
He is survived by his wife: Verna Stahman of Morris; his sister: Margaret Lupfer of Litchfield and his nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: William and Walter Stahman; one sister: Regina Gulbrandson and three infant siblings.
