Funeral services for Alma Quasebarth of Morris will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock, with Reverend Julius Miller officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
Alma Cacelie Gottsche, daughter of John and Margaret (Brandt) Gottsche, was born December 29, 1915 in Cherokee, Iowa, where she grew up and was baptized on April 2, 1916 and confirmed on March 26, 1934. Alma attended Primga Iowa Country School. Following her schooling, she worked on the family farm. In 1968 she moved to Jackson, Minnesota, where she owned and operated the Sportsman Bar and also worked on a poultry farm in Worthington, Minnesota. In 1970, Alma moved to Hancock, where she worked at Braatens Home Blue Room Café and the Hancock Senior Citizens Center. She was united in marriage to John Quasebarth on April 7, 1977 in Morris, MN. They continued to make their home in Hancock. John died on December 25, 1996. Alma later moved to the West Wind Village in Morris, where she continued to live until the time of her death.
Alma was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock and the Morris American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries.
Alma died on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at West Wind Village in Morris. She lived to 99 years.
She is survived by two nephews and special friends: Sandy (Duane) Zeltwanger of Hancock and Thelma Wilson of Henning. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
