Ann Benson

September 3, 1925 — May 6, 2010

Ann Emma (Hanson) Benson, daughter of Lewis and Emma (Podratz) Hanson, was born on September 3, 1925 in Swan Lake Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church . She received her education at School District #10. Following her schooling, she married Lowell Benson on November 13, 1945. She and Lowell raised four children and spent their lives together in Morris.





She is survived by four children: Diane Lunning of Lee’s Summit, MO, Mike Benson, Steve Benson and Roger Benson all of Columbia Heights; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen (Lynn) Farwell of Morris and two sisters-in-law, Verna Hawkinson and Elanda Hanson both of Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, in 2001; her parents and by brothers and sisters, Martin Podratz, Rose Hanson, Lewis Hanson, Melvin Hanson, twins, Clifford and Alfred Hanson, Marie Johnson and Carl Hanson.





Pallbearers for service are: Jesse Benson, Andy Benson, Adam Benson, Michael Benson, Dick Hawkinson and Marvin Hanson. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist for the service, with Dave Windhausen serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
