Arletta was born on November 23, 1927 to Howe and Martha (Carbert) Anderson in Browns Valley, Minnesota, the second of four children. During her growing up years the family moved from Browns Valley to the Barrett Ranch of rural Herman and then to a farm north of Hancock. Arletta graduated from Hancock High School in 1945. Following her schooling, she worked at the Citizens Bank in Morris and the Hancock State Bank for several years. She was united in marriage to Bill Myers of Hancock on July 3, 1948. To this union four daughters were born. The couple farmed south of Hancock, where they were able to enjoy 65 ½ years together.

Arletta was very involved at the Congregational Church in Hancock, serving in many different areas: Sunday school Superintendent, member of the Ladies Aid Society, accompanied the Jr. Choir and taught both Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Arletta also served on the Stevens County Hospital Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, helped with pre-school testing and did child care for neighbors. She was always ready to help in any way and was a blessing to many. In Bill and Arletta's retirement years, they enjoyed many winters in warmer climates spending time in Florida, Texas, California and Arizona. In 1975, they experienced the trip of a lifetime, when they spent four weeks in Australia, visiting their daughter, Diane and her husband, Bruce.

Arletta was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and cherished time with them and friends. She was always thought of as a woman with a kind, gentle, compassionate and servant heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
