Arline Erickson

Memorial services for Arline Erickson will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio.  Minister Minette Stalheim Jonson will be officiating.  Burial will be at Chokio Lutheran Cemetery.

Arline Ann Blackwelder, daughter of Walter and Darline (Braman) Blackwelder, was born October 26,1933 in Tara Township. She was baptized Christmas Eve of 1934 at Mt. Olive English Lutheran Church in Graceville, MN. Arline attended and graduated from Chokio High School. She was united in marriage to Maynard Oswald Erickson January 9, 1951 in Richfield, MN. The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2021.

During her marriage to Maynard, Arline loved being a farmer’s wife and spending time in her garden. When she was not busy with Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Circle or playing bridge, Arline was often preparing for the next holiday. She was extremely generous with her gifts and time and especially enjoyed Christmas and planning Easter egg hunts. Aside from working on the farm side by side, Arline and Maynard loved touring the country in their camper, visiting a total of 49 states. Above all, Arline lived for her children and grandchildren.

Arline died on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  She was 87 years old.

Arline is survived by her husband, Maynard; daughter-in-law, Margo Erickson of Brainerd; brother and sister-in-law, Earl (Andrea) Blackwelder of Chokio; sister-in-law, Greta Blackwelder of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Adam (Kelli) Erickson, Blake (Stephanie) Erickson and Courtney (Drew) Jessen; great-grandchildren, Elliott Erickson, Brady Erickson, Lane Landis, Callum Erickson and Noa Erickson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Darline Blackwelder; sons, Douglas and Bradley Erickson; daughter, Rebecca Erickson; great-grandson, Bryce Erickson; brother, Gene Blackwelder and sister and brother-in-law, Arloa (James) Ironside.

Arline, age 87, of Morris, Minnesota, formerly of Chokio, died on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of arrangements for Arline.
