Funeral services for Arnie Kolden Jr of Alberta, Minnesota will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Morris, MN. Reverend Ali Boomershine will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Arnold Allen Kolden, son of Arnold Sr. and Betty (Beebe) Kolden, was born July 25, 1954 in Morris, Minnesota, where he was baptized October, 1954 by Rev. L. Larson and confirmed September, 1970 by Rev. Grindland at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Arnie began his schooling at Alberta Grade School and then attended Chokio-Alberta High School, where he graduated on May 20, 1972. He continued his schooling at Canby Technical College for Auto Mechanics. On April 15, 1978, he was united in marriage to Debra Wagner at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple lived on Frog Lake near Alberta, Minnesota. Arnie worked a variety of jobs over the years which included: Farming with his family and neighbors in Alberta, Morris Co-op, Gloege's Chevrolet in Glenwood, Bengston Repair in Chokio, Dripps Motors in Morris, Gem City Chevrolet in Sidney, MT, Elbow Lake Motors, Berger Chevrolet, Arvid Beyer Ford, Wilkins, Mills Ford in Willmar, Bernies Auto Parts and most recently has been working at NAPA Auto Parts in Morris.

Arnie was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris and the Sons of American Legion. While going to school he belonged to the FFA Club. Arnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing chess, sharing a good joke and "walkabouts" with his dog. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Wild Hockey Team. Arnie loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids.

Arnie died on Friday, December 31, 2010 at his home near Alberta, MN. Arnie reached the age of 56 years old.

He is survived by his wife: Debbie Kolden of Alberta; five children: Jeni (Kirby) Johnson of Alberta, Jeremy (Stacey) Kolden of Morris, Angie (Troy) Gocha of Benson, Beth (Mike) Buss of Morris, Mike (Holly) Kolden of Chokio; special nephew: Matt Edwards of Bismark, ND; 11 grandchildren: Cody, Max and Quin Johnson, Thea and Jacob Kolden, Julia, Austin and Dahlila Gocha, Zack Buss and Lily and Mikey Kolden; his mother: Betty Kolden of Morris; three brothers: Jerry (Deb) Kolden of Pennock, David (Lisa) Kolden of Milbank, SD and Kirk (Lisa) Kolden of Carlos; his mother-in-law: Marvel Wagner of Morris and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Arnold Kolden Sr, father-in-law: Joe Wagner; his grandparents and two cousins: Phyllis Peterson and Dale Beebe.

Pallbearers for the service are: Mark Johnson, Scott Boettcher, Alan Maloney, Wayne Maloney, Steve Giese and John Moeller. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist for the service with Father Michael Peterson serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
