The memorial service for Arnold A. Lund, of Starbuck Minnesota will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Burial will be at the Fron Lutheran Cemetery, Starbuck.
Arnold A. Lund, son of Albert and Alma (Christensen) Lund was born on February 20, 1920 in Langhei Township near Starbuck, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the East Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Starbuck. Arnold attended country school at Lone Oak School near Starbuck. After his schooling, he continued to live in Pope County and most of his life was spent working with his father on the farm. He also worked for Hancock Cement in Starbuck, installing curb and gutter; shucking flax straw from Minnesota to South Dakota and working for the City of Starbuck mowing parks and properties.
Arnold was a member of the Fron Lutheran Church. In his younger years he was a member of the Langhei Indians Baseball Team. Arnold enjoyed collecting newspaper clippings, listening to old time music and playing the harmonica. He liked watching the "Wheel of Fortune" and sitting outside watching the world. Arnold will be remembered for his great memory and knowing the history and stories of Starbuck.
Arnold died on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. He was 95 years old.
He is survived by one sister, Jean (Bob) Johnson, Lancaster, NH; a very special honorary daughter Vicki (Jamie) Erdman, Starbuck, MN and several cousins. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Clinton, Marvin and Palmer and one sister Margaret Lund.
