Audrey Anna Noordmans was born on November 9, 1928, to parents, Dewey and Jessie (Hoekstra) Noordmans in Hodges Township, rural Hancock, Minnesota. Audrey was baptized on January 13, 1929, by Rev. Hoitinga and professed her faith on May 18, 1947 by Rev. Van Zee at the Christian Reformed Church in Hancock. She grew up in rural Stevens County and attended Country School District #23 until the 8th grade. Following Audrey’s education, she lived with her parents until February 15, 1949, when she was united in marriage to Kenneth Evink at the Christian Reformed Church in Hancock. They made their home in Stevens County, where Audrey spent her years raising their family of seven children.

Audrey was a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church in Hancock; she was active in the Ladies’ Fellowship group, taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible school, Calvinettes Girls Club, and the D.A.C. religion class. For many years, Audrey and Kenneth served as the church custodians. She also volunteered her time with the Salvation Army. She modeled a spirit of hospitality and a strong sense of duty. Audrey enjoyed baking, growing flowers, sewing and quilting, and oil painting. In later years, Audrey played the guitar and harmonica, simultaneously. She loved singing harmony, whether it was around the piano growing up, or with others at church and family functions. She looked forward to family gatherings and fellowship with her church family and friends. Above all, Audrey cherished the time that she spent with her family.

Audrey died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home at The Legacy in Morris, on Saturday, March 29, 2025; she was 96 years old.

Audrey is survived by her children: David Evink of Hancock, Donald (Helen) Evink of Hospers, IA, Carol (Donald) Boon of Hancock, Mary Jo (Terry) Wickstrom of Highlands Ranch, CO, Linda Kreps of Clearwater, Lois Kennard of Willmar, and Beth (David) Bentrud of Sartell; 16 Grandchildren; 39 Great-grandchildren; siblings: Doris Tensen of Brooten, Tony (Joyce) Noordmans of Ferndale, WA, and Greta (John) Vander Pol of Albuquerque, NM; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
