Funeral services for Barbara Rutland of Appleton, MN will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Pastor Tim Renstrom will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the Appleton City Cemetery.
Barbara Ann Perseke, daughter of Rueben and Vera (Schrim) Perseke, was born October 18, 1955 in Appleton Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Correll, MN. Barb grew up and attended school in Appleton, graduating in 1973. She was married to Jerry Rutland on May 13, 1978. The couple made their home and raised their three sons in the Appleton area. Years down the road the couple parted ways. Barb remained in Appleton where she was a house keeper at Appleton Area Health Services for 26 years.
She enjoyed watching demo derbys and spending time with her friends and family; especially her three grandchildren.
Barb died Monday, May 11, 2015 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. She lived to reach the age of 59 years.
She is survived by three sons: Nate Rutland of Appleton, Nick Rutland of Appleton and Jason (Kelsey) Rutland of Alexandria; three grandchildren: Jamison, Ayden and Faith Rutland; one brother: Arlo (Pam) Perseke of Appleton; two sisters: Linda Perseke of Willmar and Pat (Ron) Kohlman of O'neil, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law: Anngee Rutland and two brothers: Jerry and Danny Perseke.
