Benjamin Wink

May 26, 1987 — July 26, 2013

Graveside services for Benjamin L. Wink of Aitkin, MN, will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Lakeside Cemetery near Hancock, MN. Reverend Ginger Beck will be officiating.

Benjamin Lewis Wink, son of Steven & Sherry (Meierding) Wink, was born May 26, 1987 in Cambridge, Minnesota, where he was baptized on September 27, 1987 by Reverend Joe Ellenbaus at the United Methodist Church. Ben was later confirmed on April 20, 2003 by Reverend Mark Bengtson at Cascade Methodist Church in Deerwood, MN. Ben grew up in Crosby, MN, graduating from Crosby-Ironton High School in June 2006.

Following high school, Ben went to Heavy Equipment Training, Level II in Florida in 2007. After his training he returned home before working as a truck driver for a couple years in North Dakota. He then worked various jobs in Minnesota, eventually taking a job with Polaris Company in Roseau, where he was employed at the time of his death. When he wasn't working, Ben could be found enjoying his love for hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Ben also had an interest in flying small aircraft, and had taken flying lessons for a period of time. Most of all, Ben enjoyed the time he spent with friends and family, and could always be found doing something with his dad and his brother, Luke.

On March 17th of this year, Ben lost his two best friends, when he and his dad and brother were involved in a tragic car accident. It is everyone's hope that Ben's pain and suffering has been replaced with God's overwhelming love and grace, and the three of them are once again together in God's House. Ben passed away July 26, 2013, and will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Sherry Wink of Aitkin; his grandmother, Kathy Meierding of Hancock; his great-grandmother, Bernice Barsness of Hancock; aunts & uncles: Brian & Kim Wink of Alexandria, Tom Wink of Eden Valley, Greg & Stella Wink of Lakeville, Colleen Sulier of Halstead, KS, Jerry Meierding of Hancock, Terry & Angela Meierding of Hancock and Melissa Klima (fiancé, Jamie Boller) of Prior Lake; as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, Steve Wink; his brother, Luke Wink; grandparents: Norman & Lila Wink and Elmer Meierding Jr.; uncles: Ron Sulier and Dean Wink and one aunt, Linda Solomon.
