During her high school years, Bethany was a member of the National Honor Society, sang in several choirs, performed in drama and speech and was on the swim team. She was crowned Miss Morris for 2007-2008 and was voted "Miss Congeniality" at the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program. While at college, she was a member of Phi-Kappa-Phi National Honor Society, Alpha-Lamda-Delta Honor Society and was on the Dean's List every semester. She also served on the Residence Hall Association as the historian, the National Residence Hall Honorary and was a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association.
Bethany enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, collecting vintage "Peanuts" memorabilia, camping and fishing, playing board games and church activities. She had a love for all animals, especially her dogs "Suki" and "Gracie". Most of all, Bethany loved spending time with her family.
