Funeral services for Beulah Carlson of Chokio, MN will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio. Reverend Gloria Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be held in the spring.
Beulah Josephine Carlson, daughter of John and Nellie (Sorenson) Carlson, was born June 18, 1919 in Stevens Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended Country School. She was baptized and confirmed at Artichoke Lutheran Church. Beulah and her brother, Delroy lived and farmed on the family farm until 2001. She then moved to Eastside Acres in Chokio, until March of 2008, when she moved to the Courage Cottage in Morris. She continued to live in the Courage Cottage until the time of her death.
Beulah was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio, where she belonged to the women's group and the quilting ladies and was a member of the Chokio Garden Club. Beulah loved spending time at her cabin on Artichoke Lake. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips with her friends.
Beulah died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 91 years.
Memorials are preferred to the Courage Cottage in Morris, MN.
She is survived by numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Nellie and one brother: Delroy Carlson.
Pallbearers for the service are: Jim Larson, Steve Stahn, Blake Decamp, Katie Raasch, Ed Picht and Allen Carlson. Honorary Pallbearers are: Blaine Wallin, Roy Baily, Charles Hanson, Delhart Anderson, Joel Boldenow, Lyle Planting, Marcia DeNeui and all the loving caregivers at the Courage Cottage. Julene Amborn will serve as organist for the service with Rev. Mark Swanson serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
