Beverly Kay Leuthardt was born on July 15, 1949, to Peter and Agnes (Barlage) Leuthardt in Chokio, Minnesota. She was raised in Chokio where she attended school, graduating with the class of 1967; the last class to graduate from Chokio High School. Following her education, she moved to Minneapolis and worked various jobs before moving back home. In Chokio, she worked at Grossman’s Grocery, later purchasing the business. With the help of Merrill Carlson, Bev built a new building and called it Bev’s Superette. After the closing of her store, she worked at Onvoy Call Center as a telephone operator for the remainder of her working years, retiring in November of 2022.
Bev was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chokio. She looked forward to spending time with the Funday Monday group and the Friday Night Gang at Spaulding’s Sports Bar. She enjoyed her family and friends; they were her life. Bev loved Chokio, and was proud to live and work there.
Bev died on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, she was 73 years old.
Bev is survived by her siblings: Tom (Vicki) Leuthardt of Chokio, Sandy Moser of Rochester, and Pat (Stan) Bohn of Freemont, NE; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends: Sharon Henrichs, Allen and Kathie Marty, Barb and Les Spaulding, Ray Keeler, and the Friday Night Gang at Spaulding’s Sports Bar.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Agnes; brothers: Donnie, Ralph, Eddie, Marvin, Jim, and Butch; and sisters: Viola, Doris, and Marlys.
In following Bev’s wishes, no services will be held.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of arrangements for Bev.
