A public visitation will be held for Beverly Haugen on Thursday, December 31st at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Hancock from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Memorial services for Beverly will be private with burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Beverly Jean Haugen was born on November 15, 1931 to Clarence and Agnes (Kolden) Sundt in Morris. She was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Morris and graduated from Morris High School. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Haugen on September 29, 1951 in Sisseton, South Dakota. The two then made their home in Hancock and were blessed with three children: Debra, Dennis, and Steve. Gilbert passed away on August 23, 2002. Beverly was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church.

During her lifetime, Beverly was a homemaker and really enjoyed entertaining her family. She loved to watch the Vikings and the Twins, knit and crotchet, babysit her grandchildren, and cook for her family.

Beverly, age 89 of Morris, formerly of Hancock, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Steven’s County Medical Center in Morris.

She is survived by her children: Debra Forbord of Rochester, Dennis (Sue) Haugen of Hancock, Steve Haugen of Eden Prairie; her brother Harvey (Judy) Sundt of Apple Valley; her sister Delores Landmark of Coon Rapids; grandchildren: Sara (Jess) Smith, Laura (Jeff) Kotnour, Eric Forbord, Ross (Tina) Haugen, and Scott Haugen; great-grandchildren: Ellie, Jill and Bella Smith, Taylor Kotnour, Beau, Will, Jarret, and Laney Haugen. She is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert; son-in-law DuWayne Forbord; parents Clarence and Agnes Sundt; parents-in-law Ole and Mary Haugen; brothers Lynn (Madonna) Sundt, Wayne (Sharon) Sundt, and Keith Sundt; sisters Ardelle (Dale) Johnson, Darlene Appland, and Sharon Sundt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Hancock, the American Heart Association, and the Salvation Army.
