Funeral services for Bonnie Weiler of Morris will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, with Father Todd Schneider officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Bonnie Renee Rohloff, daughter of Wayne and Vera (Stock) Rohloff, was born July 30, 1948 in Morris, Minnesota. She attended country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Morris High School in 1966. Bonnie continued her education with nurse's training at Miller Hospital in St. Paul. Bonnie then moved to Alexandria, MN and worked in a nursing home there for a short while. In 1970, she moved to Hawaii to work at the Queens Medical Center. While in Hawaii, Bonnie started dating Greg Weiler, who was stationed at Pearl Harbor. She moved back to Morris, MN in September 1970 and was united in marriage to Greg Weiler on November 28, 1970 at the Assumption Catholic Church. Following their marriage, the couple started their family and began farming. For the next 44 years, Bonnie worked at various places in Morris including the Morris Medical Center, Villa of St. Francis, Prairie Ridge Medical and the Stevens Community Medical Center. In 2012, Bonnie was diagnosed with Primary Peritoneal Cancer, at which time she retired from nursing to spend time with family and friends.
Bonnie was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, where she served on various groups. She was a very active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, reading with the book club that she organized, traveling, attending activities that her children were involved in and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Bonnie loved wintering in Rochester, MN and spending summers at the lake with family and friends.
Bonnie died surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 4, 2015. She was 66 years old.
She is survived by her husband: Greg Weiler; three children: Randee (Kurt) Schoenecker, Jeff (Amanda) Weiler and Renee (Chris) Saito; eight grandchildren: Erika, Jack and Kyla Schoenecker, Bailey, Sydney and Brody Weiler, Riley and Ella Mae Saito; three brothers: Lanny (Linda) Rohloff, Lowell (Cindy) Rohloff and LuAlan (Shawn) Rohloff; one sister: Connie (Steve) Berg; sister-in-law: LaMae Rohloff and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Larry Rohloff; one niece: Dawn Nelson and two nephews: Lonnie Rohloff and Daniel Rohloff.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Courage Cottage in Morris or the local American Cancer Society.
