Funeral services for Carol Linser of Morris, Minnesota, will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Reed Stockman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Horton Township.
Carol June Curfman, daughter of Archie and Edna (Braunschweig) Curfman, was born June 14, 1932, in Ida Township, near Garfield, Minnesota. She was baptized July 3, 1932, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield, Minnesota by Reverend John F. Malkow. She was confirmed June 30, 1946, by Reverend K.S. Michelson at First Lutheran Church in New Rockford, North Dakota. Carol grew up and attended school in New Rockford, North Dakota, graduating from New Rockford High School in 1950. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota from 1950-1954 receiving a degree in education. Carol taught Home Economics in Red Lake Falls, Sauk Centre and Alberta, MN from 1954-1961. Carol was united in marriage to Donald Linser on June 29, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN by Reverend L. Bursch. The couple made their home in Morris where they were blessed with three children Julie, Jay and Jon. Carol taught part time in Morris from 1964 until her retirement in 1991. Following their retirement, Carol and Don continued to live in Morris. Don passed away November 25, 2020. Carol moved to West Wind Village in 2021 where she continued to live until the time of her death.
Carol was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morris where she was active in the Women of Zion and Mary Circle. She helped deliver meals on wheels and served as election judge for many years. In her earlier years, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Later in life she became an avid reader. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Carol passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at West Wind Village in Morris. She was 89 years old.
She is survived by three children: Julie Ebert of Fairmont, Jay Linser of New Brighton, Jon (Susan) Linser of Lino Lakes; eight grandchildren: Melissa (Mark) Keefer, DeAnn (Ben) Loll, Renae (Matthew) Rimmer, Michael (Heather) Ebert, Benjamin Linser, Anneke Linser, Tevis Linser and Delaney Linser; eight great-grandchildren: Zoey Guzman, Jonah, Oliver, Clara, and Isaiah Loll, Olivia and Colin Keefer and Leopold Ebert. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents; son-in-law: Keith Ebert; siblings: Everett Curfman and Evelyn Thomale.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to be made to Lutheran Island Camp or Lutheran Hour Ministry.
