Funeral services for Catherine Logan of Morris, MN will be Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Visitation will be Sunday, May 5th from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7, with a rosary to follow at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Morris.
Catherine Bathilda Sauter, daughter of William and Catherine (Heinen) Sauter, was born May 13, 1930 in Synnes Township, Minnesota, where she attended Country School District #58, St. Mary’s School and graduated from Morris High School. Catherine worked at the Merchant’s Café and Lee’s Café through high school and also at Hemming Auto and Amwood Homes, having procured her real estate brokers licenses. She was also well known for her cleaning abilities having been employed by many local families. Catherine was united in marriage to Kenneth Logan on October 4, 1949 at Assumption Catholic church in Morris. From this union there were eight boys and one girl born. Catherine later moved to a home in Morris for a short time, before settling in Chokio, where she raised her children. Over the years, Catherine has made her home in Wisconsin, before returning to the Morris area.
Catherine was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. She particularly enjoyed outside activities whether it be fishing, car racing, gardening or playing softball in her younger years. Her greatest pride and joy was time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Catherine died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at West Wind Village in Morris. She was 88 years old.
She is survived by six children: Joseph (Sharon) Logan of Sioux Falls, SD, Stanley Logan of Morris, Debra Brustuen of Alexandria, Robert (Kelly) Logan of Cheyenne, WY, William Logan of Morris and Christopher Logan of Alexandria; one brother: Bill (Marge) Sauter of Morris; four sisters: Carol Woolridge, Lorraine Woolridge and Delores Koplin all of Morris and Rosella Juergensen of Sun City, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons: Ronald, Larry and Daniel Logan; two brothers and four sisters.
