Cecelia Dickson

January 19, 1910 — November 18, 2009

Cecelia Anna Amberg, daughter of Ernest and Magdeliena (Leuthard) Amberg, was born on January 19, 1910 in Chokio , Minnesota , where she grew up and graduated from Chokio High School in 1927. In 1930 she was united in marriage to John Dickson. To this union one daughter was born. Following their marriage, they made their home on a farm by Hancock. While living in Hancock, Cecelia worked in the kitchen at Hancock School . While she was there she made many friends at the school. Several of them continued there friendship with her after her retirement, joining her for lunch and cards once a month. John died on January 9, 1977. Cecelia lived on the farm for 59 years before moving to Morris, where she lived for another 16 years, eventually moving into West Wind Village in March of 2008.





Cecelia was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, where she attended bible study. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, flowers and cards.





Cecelia died on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at West Wind Village in Morris , Minnesota , having lived to reach the age of 99 years.





She is survived by two grandchildren: Michael NewHaus and Andrea NewHaus; two sisters: Rose Marie Nickel of St. Peter and Irene McLean of Newberry , MI and one sister-in-law: Minnie Amberg of Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers: Albert Amberg, Lawrence Amberg, George Amberg, Edward Amberg and Leo Amberg and two sisters: Agnes Primising and Katherine Johnson.





Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
