Charlene Lundebrek

Charlene Mae Holmberg, daughter of Melvin and Gladys (Foster) Holmberg, was born May 26, 1934 in Kerkhoven , Minnesota , where she grew up and attended school. On October 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to Maynard Lundebrek in Kerkhoven , MN . The couple made their home in Langhei Township , south of Starbuck, where they raised their children. Charlene was a member of East Zion Lutheran Church . She was active with the Ladies Aid and the Birthday Club. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, crocheting, knitting, quilting, playing guitar and accordion. She loved animals, especially cats. She was also an avid bird watcher. Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family. She was especially fond of her cousins, Gordy and Atley. Charlene had a great memory. Maynard also claimed she could hear what he was thinking.



Charlene died on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck , MN , having lived to reach the age of 75 years.





She is survived by her husband, Maynard Lundebrek of Clontarf; one son, Lyle (Liz) Lundebrek of Morris; one daughter, Marlys Marsh of Morris; five grandchildren, Melissa Marsh of Alvin, TX, Chris Marsh of Lufkin, TX, Dominic Lundebrek of St. Cloud, Kristine (Jake) Nystrom of West Fargo, ND, Dustin Lundebrek of Minneapolis; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Nystrom, Hunter Nystrom, Allison Lundebrek and Ryan Lundebrek; one sister, Twila Bendiske of Cottage Grove; one aunt, Lois Gjelhaug; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Ray Bendiske; and aunts and uncles, Vopal Sanford, Thelda Simonson, Mabel Youngren, Norris Foster, and Harlan Foster.





Pallbearers for the service are: Melissa Marsh, Dominic Lundebrek, Kristine Nystrom, Dustin Lundebrek, Chris Marsh, and Bradley Bendiske. Honorary pallbearers are: Morgan Nystrom, Hunter Nystrom, Allison Lundebrek, and Ryan Lundebrek. Monica Gosseling will serve as organist for the service with Joy DuBois serving as soloist. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the East Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
