Chrysta Wente

Memorial services for Chrysta Wente of Holloway, Minnesota will be Monday, January 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield Township, Minnesota, with Reverend Donald Klatt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be a private family burial at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

Chrysta Ann Berget, daughter of Orville and Marjorie (Toop) Berget, was born March 30, 1960 in Morris, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hancock. She received her schooling at Hancock Schools graduating in 1978. On August 19, 1978, she was united in marriage to Thomas Wente at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hancock. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Hancock until 1988, when they moved to the farm near Holloway. Chrysta was a stay at home mom until the kids were out of the house, she then helped Tom with laying carpet and farming.

Chrysta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield Township, where she was a vacation bible school teacher. She and Tom were on a bowling league for many years and she also ran the horseshoe league for over 20 years in Hancock. She enjoyed westerns, old tv shows, including John Wayne and Andy Griffith, crossword puzzles and she was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Ava Lynn.

Chrysta died on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at her home near Holloway. She was 59 years old.

She is survived by her husband: Tom Wente of Holloway; three children: Amber (Bill) Markham of Bloomington, Dan (Kelly) Wente of Annandale and Brandon Wente of St. Louis Park; one granddaughter: Ava Lynn Markham; four siblings: Moni (Dean) Rohloff of Hancock, Dori (Marty) Thielke of Holloway, Kyle (Karen) Berget of Morris and Tawnia (John) Jepma of Hancock; sister-in-law: Stephanie Berget of Hancock and brothers-in-law: Dave (Bernie) Wente of Morris, Vic (Lois) Wente of Eau Claire, WI and Mike (Mary) Wente of Porter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Marjorie Berget; one brother: Kerry Berget and parents-in-law: Eli and Alma Wente.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
