Clara Helen Knock, daughter of Harm and Fenna (Negendyker) Knock, was born February 1, 1913 in

, where she grew up and attended school through the 8
th
grade. On November 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Jabbo Westerman at the
Antelope
Valley
Church
in
Marietta
,
Minnesota
by Reverend Rosenbaum. The couple made their home north of Chokio, where they farmed and raised their children. They retired from farming in 1977, when they moved into Chokio. Jabbo died on August 14, 2003. Clara continued to live in Chokio until 2007, when she moved to Grace Home in Graceville, MN, where she resided unitl the time of her death.

, where she was involved with the Ladies Aide. She was also a charter member of the
Chokio
Senior
Center
. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and gardening. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends.
Clara died on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the
Stevens
Community
Medical
Center
in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 97 years.
She is survived by three children: Frieda Casey of
Roseville
, Jean (Don) Kaddatz of Mora and Wayne (Susan) Westerman of Chokio; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Joyce Iott of
Clear Lake
,
SD
and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers for the service are Clara’s grandsons: Chad Kaddatz, Sean Casey, Michael Casey, Ryan Casey, Matthew Westerman, Lucas Westerman, Christopher Westerman and Jeremy Westerman. Honorary pallbearers are Clara’s granddaughters: Corinne Christiansen and Tamara Kaddatz. Carol Johnson will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangments.
