September 11, 1915 — August 14, 2011

Memorial services for Clinton Muecke of Morris, MN will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Neil Thielke will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Clint Muecke was born on September 11, 1915 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Luella (Meyer) and Chris Muecke.

He attended country school through the seventh grade in District 14 near Barrett, MN.

Clint helped his father with farm work when the family lived near Barrett and later, when they moved to Becker, MN.

The family farmed with horses, and one of Clint's jobs was to feed and care for them after a day of work in the fields. Clint said one of his favorite things was to watch the horses and cows eat when they were in the barn. Although he enjoyed farming with horses, Clint was thrilled when his family purchased a tractor. "When tractors came, then I was happy!" he said.

For a few years, Clint lived with his Uncle Julius near Glenwood, helping him to put up power lines for electricity.

In 1942, Clint moved with his parents to Morris, MN. Here Clint started a repair shop for radios, TV's, lawn mowers and bicycles. Clint could fix almost anything that was electronic! He especially liked repairing "boom boxes" in his later years. When asked how he learned to repair electronics, Clint said, "I just jumped right in and did it! Why not? You name it, if I had my tools, I could fix it!"

Clint loved music, especially Polkas! In his younger years, he played the banjo, mandolin, guitar and harmonica for dances in the area.

After his parents passed away, Clint lived for many years in the Waddell Trailer Court in Morris. He lived with his cat "Tippy" whom he loved very much. Of his cat Clint often said, "You feel more like being in this world when you have company like that. Having a cat is almost like having family or relation!"

Clint loved to collect things and to tell jokes and make others laugh. He liked to go to the Stevens County Fair and to the local bars and stores and to entertain people there by fashioning their names out of copper wire.

He also loved to have bon fires and barn dances on his birthday, to take drives in the country, to eat ice cream at the Dairy Queen, and to eat chocolate!

Clint was perhaps best known for riding his three-wheeled bicycle around the town of Morris! Clint loved Morris, and said, "It's nice to be out with a bunch; It's such a nice town, nice people, a nice place. Everything's nice; that's why we're here!"

In 2007, Clint began spending time at Legacy Living Adult Day Care in Morris. He especially enjoyed his time there with Lisa Denzer and the staff, where he even got to polka to live accordion music! Lisa and the staff were especially kind and helpful to Clint.

In December 2007, Clint became a resident of Lakeview Good Samaritan Home in Glenwood. Here, too, the staff was very caring and helpful to him. Clint liked to play his harmonica at Lakeview, and even got to play along with some the musicians who came to entertain there! He came to feel at home at Lakeview and said, "They'd miss me if I left here. I don't know what they'd do with me!"

On Sunday, August 14, 2011, Clint passed away at the age of ninety-five.

Clint trusted Jesus as his Savior and spoke often of being excited to see the mansion that Jesus was building for him in heaven!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Luella Muecke, and by all six of his siblings, Ethelyn, Arvilla, Virgil, Vance, Marvin, and Leona.

He will be especially missed by his friends Ken and Linda Hodgson and by Lisa Winter, who have long considered him family.

Memorials are preferred to Legacy Living of Morris and to Lakeview Good Samaritan Home of Glenwood.
