Colleen Sheldon

Memorial services for Colleen Revak will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck.  Reverend Paul Johnson will be officiating.  Burial will be at Fron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Starbuck.

Colleen Ann Revak was born on August 21, 1961, in Minneapolis to Gary and Darlene (Ashlyn) Revak.  She was raised with her brother Brian and sister Connie, in North Minneapolis, where she was baptized, confirmed, and received her education.  At the age of 14, Colleen and her family moved to Starbuck, Minnesota when her stepfather, Curt Anderson, retired from work. They made their home in a beautiful farmhouse, just outside of town.  Later in life, Colleen met Jerry LaFereniere and they had two beautiful daughters, Renee and Nicole.  At the age of 20, Colleen met Gregory Liebrecht, and together they raised their five children: Shawn, Renee, Kayce, Nicole, and then Samantha, their daughter together.  In 1991, Colleen met Todd Sheldon in Dayton, Minnesota.  They were married in February of 1997.   They lived happily in Wright County, Minnesota before settling down in Pope County to be near her stepfather.

When her girls were younger, Colleen was a girl scout troop leader for many years.  She held many positions which she enjoyed dearly, throughout her life.  Colleen had a knack for cleaning and spent many years as a professional housekeeper for local residents.  One of her proudest moments was when she attended Ridgewater College to attain her TMA certificate.   She used this to fulfil her passion of caring for others for many years before an injury made her unable to work any longer.

Colleen enjoyed sewing, making many of her daughter’s Halloween costumes, cooking, baking, and she had quite the green thumb for gardening, growing beautiful roses annually.  Most importantly, Colleen cherished the time that she was able to spend with her family.

Colleen died on Friday, August 20, 2021, the day before her 60th birthday, at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

She is survived by her husband: Todd Sheldon of Glenwood; daughters: Renee (Robert) Pietz of Starbuck, Nicole Revak of Benson, and Samantha (Keith Erickson) Revak of Starbuck; seven grandchildren: Dylan Holan of Starbuck, Heidi Revak of Alexandria, Mariah Maurus of Starbuck, Lawrence Maurus of Starbuck, Nathan Revak of Starbuck, Gabriella Erickson of Starbuck and Grady Erickson of Starbuck.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Darlene Ashlyn Anderson, and Gary Revak; stepfather: Curtis Anderson; brother, Brian Lee Revak; and sister, Connie Simacek-Revak.
