Corrine Kay Webster was born at the Union Hospital in New Ulm, MN on April 16, 1951, the third of seven children born to John Elmer and Mary Virginia (Milliman) Webster. She grew up on Red Gate Farm in Bernadotte, where she began her schooling at Lafayette Elementary School and first started to develop her sewing skills as a member of the local 4-H Club. Following graduation from New Ulm High School in 1969, Corrine enrolled at St. Barnabas School of Nursing in downtown Minneapolis graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1972. She worked as an orthopedic nurse at Metropolitan Medical Center for several years.

Visiting Donnelly to see her friend from nursing school, Corrine met Elroy “Butch” Larson, who announced to Corrine on the evening they met, “I’m going to marry you.” History does not record Corrine’s response but on November 18, 1978, Corrine and Elroy were married in the Bernadotte Lutheran Church. Corrine relished the role of farm wife. She vaccinated piglets, drove farm equipment, and planted a huge garden. She was an active member of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, learned to make lefsa, and helped organize the parade for Donnelly’s annual Threshing Bee for many years. As her three children arrived, Corrine focused on the role of Mom. She taught Sunday School, volunteered at school, often bringing in baby chicks each spring, and was a leader in the Rendsville 4-H Club helping may local 4-Hers with their projects.

An accomplished seamstress, Corrine altered clothing and outfitted bridal parties. She eventually resumed her nursing career taking a position as the health service nurse for the University of Minnesota Morris. After Elroy died suddenly in April 2002, she rented the land to some neighbors until her son David graduated college and returned home to take over the family farm.

A co-worker introduced Corrine to her cousin, Larry Tufton. Corrine agreed to meet Larry for coffee (even though Corrine never drank coffee). Corrine and Larry were married on June 8, 2008 at North Buffalo Church in Kragnes, MN. Corrine and Larry built a life together with each enjoying the other’s extended family. During this time, Corrine’s favorite job was that of Grandma, loving every activity she attended and picture or video she received.

Corrine died January 4, 2025, at the Courage Cottage in Morris as the result of a brain tumor having, lived to reach the age of 73 years.

Corrine leaves behind a large loving family and a multitude of friends. She is survived by her husband, Larry Tufton of Kragnes; her children: Anna (Ryan) Weispfenning of Blaine, Beth Larson of St. Paul, and David (Hannah) Larson of Donnelly; grandchildren: William, Christian and Katherine Weispfenning, and Thorstein, Elroy J., Arne and Margaret Larson; Larry’s children: Stephanie (Trent) Oberg of Morris, Eric (Erika) Tufton of Fargo, ND, and Heather Tufton of Portland, OR; grandchildren: Carissa and Evan Oberg and Jacob Tufton; mother-in-law Myrtle Tufton of Moorhead; siblings: Dolly (Craig) Opel of New Ulm, Ruth Ann (Phil Meidl) Webster of New Ulm, John (Candy) Webster of St. Louis Park, Michael (Bonnie) Webster of Bernadotte and Audrey (Tim) Renner of New London; her sister-in-law: Debra Webster of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
