Corrine Stein

Corrine Ann Richards, daughter of Dale and Evelyn (Coleman) Richards, was born August 17, 1950 in Morris, Minnesota. She grew up in the Herman area, where she was baptized and confirmed at St. Charles Catholic Church. Corrine attended and graduated from the Herman High School in 1968. She continued her education at the Alexandria Vo-Tech School, graduating in 1969 as a Legal Secretary. On May 23, 1970, she was united in marriage to Arnie Stein at St. Charles Catholic Church in Herman, MN by Father Sauer. Following their wedding, the couple made their home in the Morris area, where they raised their three children. Corrine worked along side her husband, Arnie for State Farm Insurance Company for over 30 years. Arnie and Corrine retired at the end of 2006.




Corrine was an active member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, MN, where she assisted in the kitchen on many funeral dinners. Corrine was also an active volunteer at the Senior Citizen Center and the Meals on Wheels Program. She enjoyed reading, setting puzzles, planting flowers, making rugs, sewing quilts and baby onesies. Corrine was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Her graciousness and generosity was felt by many far and wide. Corrine was famous for her homemade caramel rolls, scalloped potatoes and “Sloppy Grandma’s”. Corrine and Arnie liked to attend auctions, where they would collect antiques, especially pressing irons that they would add to their collection. Corrine especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was never without a smile and kind word for everyone.




Corrine died on July 6, 2009 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, having lived to reach the age of 58 years.




She is survived by her husband: Arnie Stein of Morris; three kids: Jodi (Mike) Finstad of Farmington, Jon Stein of Morris and Holly (Chris) Kluver of Farmington; five grandchildren: Kaylin Finstad, Kamryn Finstad, Kelsey Finstad, Gavin Kluver and Benjamin Kluver; three brothers: Stanley (Bede) Richards of Florida, Bradley (Louise) Richards of White House, OH and Darwin (Lynda) Richards of Santa Anna, CA; seven sisters: Karen Larson of Rice, Beverley (Lee) Raudabaugh of Pine City, Connie (Al) Ott of Chanhassen, Marlene (Bob) Gillingham of Bellevue, WA, Jean (Ken) DeGier of Echo, Beth (Mark) Erlandson of Lowry and Monica Strommen of Monticello and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one niece: Nicole Richards and mother and father-in-law: George and Edith Stein.




Pallbearers for the service are: Al Ott, Lee Raudabaugh, Dick Mahoney, Mike Finstad, Chris Kluver and Charlie Oachs. Honorary pallbearers are: Donald Eich, Leonard Eich, Ronald Nelson, Roger Hermanson, Knute Christensen, Leo Riley, all of Corrine’s grandchildren and everyone who called her friend. Deb Mahoney will serve as pianist for the service with Holly Giese serving as song leader. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
