Funeral services for Curtis Lang of Starbuck, MN will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fron Lutheran Cemetery, near Starbuck.
Curtis Millard Lang, son of Millard and Marcella (Christopherson) Lang was born August 16, 1942 in Graceville, Minnesota. He attended country school near Graceville, before the family moved to the Cyrus, Minnesota area in 1950, where Curtis continued his education. Growing up he was always working on the family farm and in his teenage years, worked for area farmers in the Cyrus area. After his education, Curtis began trucking for Green Mill Company in Morris. He was united in marriage to Jill Rust, through this union a son Jeffrey was born. The couple moved to Circle Pines, Minnesota in 1970, where Curtis trucked over the road for H & W Trucking. In the mid 70's he purchased his own truck, where he drove as an owner/operator for many years. He married Sharon Campbell in 1985. In 1998, after retiring, Curtis moved to Starbuck, where he enjoyed living until the time of his death.
He had a love for classic cars, motorcycling and NASCAR. He traveled to many stock car races and made several NASCAR events. He enjoyed country music; Johnny Cash was one of his favorite artists. Curtis will be remembered for being humble, generous, thoughtful and caring. He was always willing to help out anyone in need.
Curtis died on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 73 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He is survived by one grandson, Michael (Christa) Lang, Blaine, MN; two brothers, Larry (Pat) Lang and Dan (Mary) Lang, all of Starbuck, MN; three sisters, Jan (Don) Dahlgren and Marilyn (Wayne) Swanson, all of Starbuck, MN and Bonnie (Rudy) Vergoth, Embarrass, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jeffrey.
