Daniel Eby

A graveside service for Daniel Eby of Starbuck, MN, will be held Monday, September 21, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Fron Lutheran Cemetery near Starbuck, MN.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings of up to 250 people. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean. For those who prefer or require continued precautions, webcasting and/or livestreaming is available in most situations.

Daniel Arthur Henry Eby, named for his father and both grandfathers, was born in Starbuck, MN on November 12, 1948. He is the son of Arthur Page Eby and Adeline Lucille Nodland. He is the brother of Lynn A. Eby and two brothers, Donald Baukol and Chester Baukol. Dan was baptized in Starbuck and confirmed at Ascension Lutheran Church in St Louis Park, MN. Dan graduated from High school in Minneapolis. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing hockey, wrestling, and baseball. Baseball remained a sport he enjoyed.  Dan was also very involved in Boy Scouts. Dan was a well-read deep thinker who expressed great wit with his uniquely fun sense of humor.

Dan had a variety of jobs throughout his life.  At one time, he owned an antique/pawn shop in Willmar.  Dan lived a simple life. Dan felt much pride in his children and much respect for his father and grandfathers, who had been in the military during the world wars. Dan has six children, four daughters and two sons. They were always in his heart and thoughts.

As his health declined, Dan appreciated all the help he received from the Starbuck Police Department, Pope County Adult Protection Social Worker, and various health care workers when he was hospitalized.

Dan died peacefully in hospice care at Gabriel House in Murdock, MN on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. He was 71 years old. The care Dan received at Gabriel House was wonderfully compassionate and thoughtful. It is much appreciated by his family and friends.  Dan will be missed.
