Daniel Meyer

A Celebration of Life for Daniel Meyer of Glendale, CA, formerly of the Morris area, will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m., at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris with Reverend Chris Richards officiating. A private family burial will take place at Scandia East Cemetery, rural Cyrus, Minnesota.

Daniel Norman Meyer was born November 8, 1979 at Fort Polk U.S. Army Hospital to Robert Meyer and Kyong Cha Anglin.

He was baptized into the Christian Faith on November 26, 1979 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cyrus, MN.  He attended the Hancock Public School until his sophomore year.  During most of that time he lived with his foster family, Jeff and Cheryl Norby who took extremely good care of him and loved him as their own.  His last years of high school were spent in the Morris Area School district where he lived with his Aunt Kathy, graduating from there in 1999.

During his high school years he worked at the Diamond Supper Club and later at the St. Francis Nursing Home.  He enjoyed spending time with, and taking care of, the elderly residents living there.  Most recently he was working as a bookkeeper contemplating returning to school to pursue a degree in accounting and perhaps continuing on to become a CPA.

Daniel loved music and took piano lessons for several years, becoming an accomplished pianist.  He enjoyed gardening when he had the time and especially taking special care of his prized orchids.  He loved animals, having cared for various birds and dogs throughout his life and was a talented photographer turning this into a business for a time.

He also spent time traveling to several locales outside of the US.  He traveled to Korea, Japan, and South America.

Survivors: Father Robert Meyer (Lynn Peteler) Rogers, MN, Mother Kyong Cha Anglin, Los Angeles, Brother Richard Meyer (Kimberly), St. Paul, MN, Half-brothers Dean Fressen, Alan Anglin, David Anderson, half-sister Cassandra Anderson.

Preceded in death: Grandparents, Norman & Joyce Meyer, Yeong Mo, Sun Yae Kim.

Great Grandparents: Tom & Ethel Harrison, Harold & Elsie Meyer.
