Funeral services for Daniel George Rohloff of Chula Vista, CA, formerly of Morris will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Carlton Andersen officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Horton Township.
Daniel "George" Rohloff, son of Lowell and Cindy (Thiel) Rohloff, was born January 2, 1977 in Morris, Minnesota. He liked to remind us that he "blessed" his brother Mike's birthday forever by being born on the same day. After keeping his Guardian Angel busy for many years, he graduated from Morris Area High School in 1995 and then ventured to Michigan to attend Michigan State University where he obtained a Master's Degree in Accounting. His support for all things "Sparty" has never faltered. He was recruited by Parker Hannifin upon graduation. Since then, he has loyally travelled around the country working his way up through the accounting field for Parker. He spent several years in New Hampshire before moving to Chula Vista in 2007. After thoughtful consideration, he decided it was time to move home to watch his nephews and nieces grow up. In October 2014, he transitioned to a Parker plant in Minnesota where he was working as the Accounting Manager.
George was a devoted family man who loved his independence. He enjoyed living in various parts of the country and trying new things. He took pride in surprising coworkers with his baking talents, providing caramels and rosettes for the family Christmases and playing cards (while shooting the breeze!) with anyone. He liked to debate and analyze any topic he could – particularly college sports, politics, and the authenticity of various fish tacos. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Daniel George Rohloff, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend, died unexpectedly on January 14, 2015 at the age of 38.
Daniel is survived by his parents: Lowell and Cindy; his brothers: Corey (Dawn), Mike, Jamie (Tricia) and David (Jean); sister: Tammy (Adam Kaufman); his nephews: Mason, Leo, Jojo, Charlie, Jackson, Brady, Max, Jared, Josh, Aidan, Brendan and Brody; and his nieces: Ashley and Sydney. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Wayne and Vera Rohloff and George and Joyce Thiel; his uncle: Larry Rohloff; his aunt: Sue Bolling; and his cousin: Lonnie Rohloff.
