Funeral services for David "Bucky" Osterman of Hancock, MN will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock, MN, with Reverend Bruce Hanneman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.
David Keith Osterman, son of Robert and Irene (Waletzko) Osterman, was born on September 18, 1956, minutes before his twin sister, Debra; in Morris, MN. They were baptized at the hospital on the day of their birth by Rev. Elton Hallauer. He was confirmed on May 24, 1970 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock by Reverend MT Bradtke. David was raised in Hancock where he attended school, graduating with the Hancock Class of 1974. After graduation, David attended Alexandria Technical College for one year before beginning his career as a forklift driver for Hancock Concrete in 1975. In 1980, he worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL for one year. He returned to Hancock Concrete in 1981, where he worked until he retired due to his health in 2011.
David was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock. In his earlier years, he liked hunting and fishing, he enjoyed playing football, basketball, and in band, he played the trumpet. In later years, David kept busy by mowing Lakeside Cemetery and lawns around town. Most of all, David cherished the time that was spent with his sister, Deb and her Labrador, Bailey.
David died at his home in Hancock on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the age of 60.
David is survived by his twin sister, Debra of Hancock; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.
