Dawn Lynn Driggins

Funeral services for Dawn L. Driggins will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  Reverend Christopher Richards will be officiating.   Burial will be at Cyrus South Cemetery, south of Cyrus, at a later date.  

Dawn was born the 6^th child to Virgil Sr. and Doris (Tollefson) Driggins in Litchfield, Minnesota.  Dawn was baptized in her Lutheran faith in Grove City, Minnesota.  Around the age of three, she and her family moved to Cyrus.  Dawn attended Morris Area Schools, graduating with the class of 1982.  Following her schooling, Dawn continued to live at home and worked at the DAC in Morris.  When her mother needed more care, Dawn became a resident at Divine House in Morris until her move to a PFF Home in Willmar.  While in Willmar, she enjoyed going to DayBreak, where she would play games, make crafts and visit with others. 

Dawn looked forward to special occasions, including her birthday and all holidays, when she would celebrate with her sister, LaVerne and her family at their home.  In addition to those occasions, Dawn would stay with LaVerne one weekend a month, always bringing her brightly colored pictures to display on the fridge.  Dawn had a love of routine, Mickey Mouse, and Dr. Pepper!  She enjoyed watching television, a few of her favorite shows were: Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, Peppa Pig and Sponge Bob. Other hobbies included painting suncatchers and putting together jigsaw puzzles. 

Dawn died peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield; she was 58 years old.

Dawn is survived by her siblings: LaVerne Fjerstad of Grove City, Carl (LaDonna) Driggins of Lakefield, Duane Driggins of Hamburg, and Dan (Dawn) Driggins of Lindstrom; sister-in-law, Lorna Driggins of Cyrus; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Virgil Sr. and Doris; and one brother, Virgil Driggins Jr.
