Delia Tatge

Delia Elizabeth Wahl, daughter of Karl and Martha (Nichols) Wahl, was born September 4, 1929 in Holloway , Minnesota , where she grew up and began her schooling at a county school. She later attended and graduated from Benson Public Schools . On September 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Fredrick Tatge at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Benson , Minnesota . Following their marriage, the couple moved to Morris, where Delia was employed as a part-time custodian for Federated Church for 37 years. Fredrick died on November 2, 1974. Delia moved to Grandview Apartments in 2003, where she continued to live until the time of her death.





Delia was a member of Federated Church in Morris, where she also served on the ladies aide. She enjoyed playing bingo, coffee with the ladies at Grandview , playing cards and visiting with friends. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.





Delia died from congestive heart failure on Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris , Minnesota . She lived to reach the age of 80 years.





She is survived by five children: Nancy (James) Koos of Avon, Shirley (Gayle) Wittig of Winterhaven, FL, Lois Tatge (fiancé: Rick Ehrp) of Chokio, Ronnie Tatge (friend: Lynn Halbakken) of Coon Rapids and Connie Tatge (fiancé: George Haugen) of Morris; four grandchildren: Kristin (Michael) Olson of Coon Rapids, John (Angie) Koos of Coon Rapids, Lori (Nate) Austin of Maple Grove and Michael Koos of West St. Paul; four great-grandchildren: Emily Austin, Joel Koos, Anya Olson and Sven Olson; one sister: Norma Haugerud of Montevideo and three sisters-in-law: Ardith Anderson of Oak Park, Alice Tatge of Benson and Helga Tatge of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter: Doris Tatge; great-grandson: Ross Olson; her parents; two brothers: Earl Wahl and Neil Wahl; one sister: Alma Morlock; six brothers-in-law: Chet Haugerud, Elmer Morlock, Harley Anderson, Edwin Tatge, Leonard Tatge and Gerry Hawkins and two sisters-in-law: Eva Wahl and Ruth Hawkins.





Pallbearers for the service are: Kristin and Michael Olson, John and Angie Koos, Lori and Nate Austin and Michael Koos. Honorary pallbearers for the service are: Ted Scharf, Tom Gausman, Scott Collins, Tom Uehling, John Trelstad and Tim Beyer. Cheryl Rempel will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
