Deloris Mae Loehr was born on May 20, 1929 in Morris, Minnesota to William and Beatrice (Koster) Loehr. Deloris grew up in the Morris/Donnelly area and attended school in Morris, graduating with the class of 1947. On November 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Donald Braun at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. To this union, five children were born. Deloris and Don owned and operated the Del Monico Restaurant in Morris for many years. Don passed away on July 12, 1990. Deloris continued to live in Morris until 2015 when she moved to Burnsville to be closer to her family.
Deloris stayed busy and took up quilting, making over 200 quilts and winning many ribbons at the county and state fairs. Deloris was known for her quilting and baking. She loved to cook and was famous for her Chicken Dumpling Soup. Most of all, Deloris loved her family.
Deloris died peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Burnsville, Minnesota. She was 90 years old.
She is survived by her children: Janice Braun of Apple Valley, Wendy (Paul) Akron of Cedar, Joy (Todd) Gorr of Mound, Michael (Sue) Braun of Backus, and Gary Braun of Princeton; 10 grandchildren: Jason, Derek, Michael, Danielle, Michael, Ashley, Brandon, Amber, Shelby and Mason; great-grandchildren: Aliva, Audrina, Mikaylah, Liam and Brooklyn; step-sister, Marilyn Loehr; step-brother, Bill Loehr; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Beatrice and William; she was the last of the Loehrs.
