Diana Sue (McEachern) Bean passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 after a long fight with ovarian cancer. She was at her Florida home with her daughter Robi, husband, Bob and parents; Harold and Vernita McEachern at her side.
Diana was born October, 2, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa to Harold "Mac" and Vernita (Grimes) McEachern. Harold worked for Hy-Vee Food Stores and the family moved several times before returning to Centerville. Diana graduated from Centerville High School in 1965 and attended Stevens College in Columbia, MO. She was united in marriage to Robert S. Bean, Jr. on November 27, 1966 in the United Methodist Church in Centerville. She was employed by the Iowa Selective Service Board at Fort Des Moines at the time of her marriage. The couple made their home in Des Moines and later in Fairfield, Iowa. Their daughter, Robilyn , was born in Fairfield in 1973. After retirement in 2003, the couple moved to Bemidji and for the last several years have wintered in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Diana had a knack at making friends no matter where they lived. In Menahga, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, enjoyed time at their lake cabin on Leech Lake and more golfing. She enjoyed her "Coffee Cuties" in Lindstrom and she treasured her times with the "GF's" in Bemidji. Diana enjoyed traveling, reading magazines, collecting craft projects, her family and friends.
