Funeral services for Diana Dickinson of Hancock, Minnesota will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hancock Christian Reformed Church in Hancock. Reverend Harrison Newhouse will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery near Hancock.
Diana Solberg, daughter of Reuben and Sibyl (Nelson) Solberg was born on October 27, 1929 at St. James, Minnesota. She graduated from Augustana Academy in South Dakota and took nurses training there, furthering her nursing education in Willmar, Minnesota. Diana worked for the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris before retiring with over 40 years of service.
Diana worshipped at the Hancock Christian Reformed Church and previously at the Hancock Evangelical Free Church. She enjoyed reading, bible study, biblical prophecy, music and choir, and entertaining family and friends. She loved the Lord Jesus and was a big supporter of missions.
Diana died on Monday, December 13, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She was 81 years old.
She is survived by: two daughters, Nita (Paul) Johnson, Birmingham, AL and Barbara Dickinson, Greeley, CO; one son, Scott Dickinson, Cheyenne, WY; three brothers, Robert (Roycee) Solberg, Logan, NM, Gene (Jeanette) Solberg, Knoxville, TN, and Kenny (Marcella) Solberg, New Ulm, MN; one sister, Judy (Richard) Vee, New Ulm, MN; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and seven nieces and nephews. Diana was preceded in death by a son, Steven, a daughter, Kathy and by her parents.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, Minnesota is in charge of the funeral arrangements. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Hancock Christian Reformed Church in Hancock and Camp Joy in Star Lake, MN.
