Funeral services for Donald Lindor of Morris, MN will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio, MN. Reverend Gloria Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Donald Marvin Lindor, son of Albin and Elizabeth (Klabunde) Lindor, was born December 5, 1929 on the family farm in Nora Township in Pope County, MN. Don was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Kensington. He attended country school, before graduating from Kensington High School in 1947. Following his schooling, Don met Lorraine Anderson and was united in marriage on September 4, 1948 in Cyrus, MN. Following their marriage, the couple started farming near Cyrus until 1954, when they moved to their farm south of Chokio. Don retired from farming in 1995 and he and Lorraine moved to Morris, where they continued to live until the time of his death.
Don was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio and served on various boards and committees including the Hospital Board, Church Council, Elevator Board and Farm Credit. He enjoyed many sports including golf, hunting, fishing and especially baseball. Don played on various baseball teams over the years in Chokio, Kensington and Cyrus. He and Lorraine enjoyed wintering in Safford, AZ for 27 years. Don loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events and communicating with them through modern technology.
Don died on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having reached the age of 84 years.
He is survived by his wife: Lorraine Lindor of Morris; four children: David (Linda) Lindor, Cannon Falls, Jerry (Gail) Lindor, Morris, Nancy (Randy) Haas, Willcox, AZ and Kathy (Tim) Lind, Miltona; one brother: Kenny Lindor, Cyrus; one sister: Darlene Kringen, Yakima, WA; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ray and Les and three sisters: Evelyn, Ione and Lois.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
