Donna Brandt

Funeral services for Donna Brandt, of Morris, Minnesota, will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris.  Reverend Emmy Swedlund will be officiating.  A visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services on Friday.  Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris at a later date.  

Donna Mae Crow, was the oldest of three daughters born to Francis ‘Bud’ and Virginia (Stoneburg) Crow on June 7, 1941, at their family home in rural Herman, Minnesota.  Donna was raised in Morris and confirmed in her faith at Bethany Lutheran Church.  She received her education in the Morris School District, graduating with the Morris High School, class of 1959.  After high school, Donna continued her education, earning her Licensed Practical Nursing degree.  Once back in Morris, she was united in marriage to LeRoy ‘Butch’ Brandt at First Lutheran Church.  They made their home in Morris, and welcomed four children: Steve, Sandy, Jeff, and Jenny.  Donna worked as an LPN for 37 years, first at the Stevens Community Medical Center and later with Dr. John Stock at Prairie Medical Clinic.  While employed at SCMC, Donna was a Nursery Nurse, and was blessed to be present at the birth of many of her grandchildren! Following her retirement, Butch and Donna wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona until Butch’s health declined.  Butch preceded Donna in death on December 24, 2020.   

Donna was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, the Morris Jaycees, and the Homemaker’s Club.  She enjoyed baking cakes for her grandchildren’s birthdays and other special occasions.  Once her grandchildren started arriving - Donna was all grandma.  She treasured the time that she was able to spend with and dote on her grandchildren! 

Donna passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the Courage Cottage in Morris.  She was 81 years old.  

Donna is survived by her four children: Steve Brandt of Sisseton, SD, Sandy (Gary) Fehr of Willcox, AZ, Jeff Brandt of Morris, and Jenny Brandt of Eagan; 11 grandchildren: Amy (Anthony) Ekren, Mitch (Abbie) Fehr, Amanda (Lyle) Grimm, Ashley (Nate) Knobloch, Micah (Elizabeth) Fehr, Angie (Christoph) Werner, Annie Brandt, Erik Brandt, Kayla Brandt, Mia Eisenberg and Elle Eisenberg; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Tom) Sherwin of Lacrosse, WI; brothers-in-law: Brad DeGier of Morris, Gary (Vicki) Brandt of Menomonie, WI, and Mike (LuAnn) Brandt of Morris and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch; parents: Bud and Virginia Crow; her husband’s parents: Chester and Gladys Brandt and Lucille Scott; and sister, Carrol Riley-DeGier.
