Doris Burns

Funeral services for Doris Burns of Morris, MN will be held Monday, August 25, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at West Wind Village in Morris. Reverend Greg Bitter will be officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

Doris "Dolly" Burns, daughter of Edward and Laura Brown, was born July 25, 1933 in Swift County, Minnesota. She grew up in Clontarf and attended Clontarf Public School. She was united in marriage to Maynard Ransom "Babe" Burns on April 12, 1950. To this union one son, David, was born. Dolly was a homemaker.

Dolly was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock. She greatly enjoyed watching and reading old western movies and books, embroidery and bird watching. In her later years at West Wind Village, she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.
Dolly died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, having lived to reach the age of 81 years.

She is survived by her son, David (Patti) Burns of Morris; two grandchildren: Jeremy (Maria, Drake and Gavin) Burns of Morris and Brianna (David) Fell of Rochester, NH; one great-grandchild: Lily Ann Fell; one sister: Marge Hargreaves of Hancock and one brother: Bud Brown of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson: Jonathan Burns; her parents and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers family prefers memorials. Her family wishes to take this opportunity to thank West Wind Village for their excellent care of Dolly while she was a resident.
