Doris Driggins

April 7, 1924 — July 4, 2010

Doris Frances Westboe, daughter of Carl and Ida (Thompson) Westboe, was born April 7, 1924 in Erdahl , Minnesota , where she grew up and was baptized and confirmed at the Erdahl Lutheran Church . She attended Erdahl School and the West Central School of Ariculture in Morris. On August 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Oscar Driggins. The couple made their home in Morris, where they were blessed with eight children.





Doris was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris. She enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together, word finds and watching the Presidential Elections and the Olympics on TV. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. Children and especially her grandchildren were the “Joy” of her life.





Doris died on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at West Wind Village in Morris , MN , having lived to reach the age of 86 years.





She is survived by five children: Madeleine (Ed) Walters of Chaska, Cheryl (Gordon) Lea of Donnelly, Jeffrey (Virginia) Driggins of Ashby, Deborah (Mark) Mattheis of Morris and Rebecca (Barry) Hogen of Golden Valley; ten grandchildren: David Jones of Morris, Joshua (D’Angela) Driggins of Plymouth, Jonathan Driggins of Ashby, Jason Lea of Donnelly, Michelle (Jeremy) Schmidt of Alexandria, Jennifer Mattheis of Washington, DC, Rachel Hogen of Golden Valley, Isaac Hogen of Golden Valley, Carol Wilmes of Arkansas and Angela Holmblad of Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren: Rossitor, Austin and Gaby Jones, Taylor Lea, Angelina Driggins and Cole, Colton and Hunter Wilmes. She was preceded in death by her husband: Oscar H. Driggins; one son: Gary Lee Driggins; two daughters: Marsha Kay Driggins and Bonita Diann Driggins Baker; one granddaughter: Brenda Holmblad; her parents; one sister: Lenora Strehlo and one brother: Kenneth Westboe.





Pallbearers for the service are Doris ’s grandchildren: David Jones, Joshua Driggins, Jonathan Driggins, Jason Lea, Michelle Schmidt, Jennifer Mattheis, Rachel Hogen and Isaac Hogen. Honorary pallbearers are all those who hold her dear to their heart. Deb Mahoney will serve as organist for the service with John Kleinwolterink serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
