Doris Leone Grenson, daughter of Edwin and Clara (Brenden) Grenson, was born March 15, 1920 in
Starbuck
,
Minnesota
, where she grew up and attended school. Following her schooling, she worked in the homes of families in the Starbuck area. On March 9, 1945, she was united in marriage to Orville Rundquist in Starbuck. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed south of Starbuck. After 25 years of farming, Orville and Doris purchased a gas station and convenience store south of Morris called “Orvy’s Store”, which they ran for the next ten years. They retired in 1978 and bought a home in Hancock. Orville died on June 28, 1993 and
Doris
remained in Hancock for a few more years then moved to
Skyview Court
in Morris. In 2006, she entered the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, where she continued to live until the time of her death.
Doris
enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and baking. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.
Doris died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in
Starbuck
,
MN
, having lived to reach the age of 90 years.
She is survived by two daughters: Gail (James) Jensen of
Sioux Falls
, SD and LuMae (Larry) Rohloff of Atwater; Five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister: Evelyn Branch of
Alexandria
and one brother: Earle (Margaret) Grenson of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one brother: Alan Grenson.
Pallbearers for the service are: Curtis Jensen, Todd Rohloff, Keith Rohloff, Troy Rohloff, David Velde and Ron Branch. Monica Gosseling will serve as organist for the service. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
