The funeral for Dorothy Irene Jergenson, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kongsvinger Lutheran Church near Donnelly, Minnesota with Reverend Judy Gelinske officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery, Donnelly. Dorothy Irene Jergenson, daughter of Robert and Luella (Wilts) Leo was born on August 23, 1920 on the family farm near Moose Island, Minnesota. She graduated from Herman High School and later worked at the Red Owl grocery store in Herman. Dorothy was united in marriage to Alfred Jergenson on May 1, 1941 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman. The couple made their home in the Donnelly area, while Alfred worked as a butter maker at the Donnelly Creamery until 1946. They later purchased a farm in Framnas Township near Morris, where Dorothy and Alfred together operated a mink farm and raised their three children. In November of 2005, the couple moved into Morris and lived at West Central Homes. Alfred died on August 1, 2008. Dorothy became a resident at West Wind Village in 2010. She was an active member of the Kongsvinger Lutheran Church near Donnelly, where she was involved in ladies aid, sewing and quilting for missions, and teaching Sunday school. For many years, Dorothy was a 4-H Leader for the Pep and Progress 4-H Club, member of a homemakers club, was active in Sons of Norway, and bowled in league. She enjoyed making lefsa, gardening, working in the flower gardens, fishing with Alfred and spending time at their camper on Ten Mile Lake. Dorothy died on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the West Wind Village in Morris. She was 92 years old. She is survived by three children, Eunice (Dave) Johnson, St. Cloud, MN, Robert (Barb) Jergenson and Ardell (Jerry) Anderson, all of Morris, MN; six grandchildren, Lori (John) Fischer, Plymouth, MN, Lisa (Scott) Holland, Bothell, WA, Jeff (Ali) Anderson, Rob (Peg) Jergenson, and Tim (Jodi) Jergenson, all of Morris, MN, Heidi (Warren) Logeais, Cyrus, MN; one grand-daughter-in-law, Jerri Jergenson, Morris, MN; one sister, Bertha Larson, Donnelly; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, Corey Jergenson, and one brother-in-law, Arden Larson.
