Dorothy Leona Lenox, daughter of Marcus and Jane (Caylor) Lenox, was born November 4, 1907 in Kimball, Minnesota. When she was young, she lived in Swanville, MN before moving with her family to Washington State, where she graduated from Centrailia High School. Shortly after she graduated, her family moved back to Kimball and Dorothy continued her education at St. Cloud College. While in St. Cloud, she met Lawrence Parson. The couple was married on June 18, 1928. To this union two sons were born. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for a short while near Litchfield, MN, before buying a farm in Kimball. In 1951, they moved to Morgan, MN for one year. In 1952, they bought a farm near Morris, where they continued to live until Lawrence died in 1980. Dorothy has continued to live in Morris since that time.
She was a member of Federated Church in Morris. She was a homemaker all of her life. She especially enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her flowers.
She is survived by two sons: Udell (Sylvia) Parson of Mesa, AZ and Allan (Helen) Parson of Morris; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Rose Parson of Elbow Lake and Clara Parson of Junction City, OR and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one infant brother.
Pallbearers for the service are: Lyle Parson, Gary Parson, Kurt Gartland, Dan Roberts, William Saville and Tim Klein. Cheryl Rempel will serve as organist for the service with Kaylene Mecklenburg serving as soloist.
