Funeral services for E. L. "Ted" Dosdall of Hancock will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Paul Erdal will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Scandia West Cemetery, rural Cyrus.

Edward Lyle "Ted" Dosdall, son of Henry and Grace (Lynch) Dosdall, was born July 25, 1915 in Hancock, Minnesota, where he was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational Church. Ted grew up in rural Hancock and attended Cyrus Public School thru the 8th grade. Following his schooling, Ted worked on the family farm. On June 1, 1939, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Brandt at Scandia Free Church. Following their marriage the couple lived on the family farm, where they farmed and started their family of four kids. In 1998 the farm was recognized as a Century Farm in Hodges Township, Stevens County.

Ted served as a Stevens County Commissioner for 20 years; County Ag Inspector for 19 years; Lifetime member of the Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award; He was a member of Pheasants Forever and was awarded the Ernest Strubbe Award. Ted served on many boards including the hospital board; he was an active 4-H leader and promoter; and he was also a member of the Sons of Norway. Ted and Phyllis were longtime members of the Scandia Free Church until its closing in 1969. The couple then became members at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church of Hancock until the mid 80's when they joined the congregation at First Lutheran Church in Morris. He enjoyed hunting and fishing anywhere from the Brandt woods to the Arctic Circle, woodworking, building grandfather clocks and singing at weddings, in church, festivals and funerals.

Ted died on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 98 years.

He is survived by his four children: David Dosdall of Pottsville, TX, Daniel Dosdall of Humbolt, SD, John (Diane) Dosdall of Hancock and Carol (Douglas) Dokken of Richfield; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law: Avis Brandt of Morris. He was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis; his parents; grandchildren: Nathan Dosdall and Kris Dosdall Anderson; siblings: Henry, George, Glen, Edith Olson and brother-in-law: Ray Brandt.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Courage Cottage or the Stevens County Historical Society.
