Funeral services for Edna Mau of Donnelly, MN will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church near Donnelly. Reverend Judy Gelinske will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Vinger Cemetery near Donnelly.
Edna Ruth Gibble, daughter of Harry and Molly (Umland) Gibble, was born July 11, 1944 in Benson, Minnesota. Edna grew up and received her schooling in Alberta, MN, where she was also confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. On June 19, 1965, she was united in marriage to Marcellus "Mark" Mau. The couple moved to Donnelly, where they farmed and raised their family. During this time, Edna also worked as a nurses aid at the Villa of St. Francis in Morris for 25 years before retiring. Although she battled many health issues over the years, Edna also found a great deal of joy in spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many events. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading, doing embroidery, fishing, camping, taking family trips to threshing shows, searching for treasures at auctions and sales with Mike, shopping, doing puzzles, traveling, spoiling her pets and just getting out the house. Edna was also a longtime member of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church and was always faithful to bring her carrot cake for any church events. Mark died on December 17, 2003 and Edna had continued to live in Donnelly since that time.
Edna died on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. She lived to reach the age of 68 years.
She is survived by her children: Michael Mau, Marilynn (Jeff) Stallman, Meriel (Doug) Cardwell and Maynard (Lori) Mau, all of Donnelly; eight grandchildren: Justin and Sara Stallman, Brittany and Brady Cardwell and Makayla, Logan, Kylie and Jadeyn Mau; one brother: Duane (Janelle) Gibble of Fairmount, ND; one sister: Bertha Anderson of Morris; several nieces and nephews and special family member: Arline Grob of Norcross. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one brother-in-law: James Anderson.
Pallbearers for the service are: Gary Mau, Eric Gibble, Randy Trisko, Scott Mau, Kevin Mau, Russell Mau, Ronnie Carlson and Jim Aanerud. Honorary pallbearers are Edna's grandchildren and all who called her friend. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
