Elenora Perkins

Funeral services for Elenora Perkins of Morris will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Carlton Andersen will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Elenora Pauline Schroeder, daughter of Charles and Phoebe (Schmidt) Schroeder, was born May 21, 1917 in Appleton, Minnesota, where she grew up and was baptized on June 17, 1917 and confirmed on March 29, 1931 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She began her schooling at the Appleton School. Following her schooling, Elenora helped her parents on the farm. On August 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Odean Perkins at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Morris, where Elenora enjoyed being a homemaker. Odean died on May 1, 2000. Elenora remained in Morris until 2010, when she moved to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, where she continued to live until the time of her death.

Elenora was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. She enjoyed gardening, family visits, cooking, polka dancing and enjoying the holidays with her family.

Elenora died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, having lived to reach the age of 96 years.

She is survived by her two children: Gary (Laurie) Perkins of Port Wing, WI and Karen (Jeff) Cameron of Brooklyn Park; four grandchildren: Shannon, Aimee, Heather and Dana; five great-grandchildren; one brother: Dale Schroeder of Los Angeles, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers; three sisters and daughter-in-law: Audrey Perkins.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
