Ella Longcor

October 18, 1913 — December 16, 2005

Ella Louise Yotter, daughter of Peter and Barbara (Steinmetz) Yotter, was born October 18, 1913 in Wisner, Nebraska, where she grew up and attended school at Wisner High School. She was baptized in November, 1913 and confirmed in August, 1926 at the Lutheran Church in Wisner. On November 2, 1930, she was united in marriage to Dale Longcor in Sioux City, Iowa. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Wisner and later moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. In 1959, they moved to Hancock. Dale died on March 14, 1967. Ella continued to live in Hancock until 2003, when she moved to Granite Falls to be closer to her daughters.



Ella attended the Evangelical Free Church in Hancock. She enjoyed watching and feeding the squirrels. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.



Ella died on Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital, having lived to reach the age of 92 years.



She is survived by her children: Duane Longcor of St. Paul, Phyllis Whittenberg of Granite Falls and Sharon Barnaal of Granite Falls; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one sister: Mabel Stridier of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Earl and Leroy Longcor; her parents; four brothers: Henry, Fred, William and Edward and two sisters: Lucy and Elsie.



Pallbearers for the service are: Roy Kremer, Richard Kremer, Gerald Kremer, Jamie Dosdall and Earl Barnaal. Elna Smith will serve as organist for the service with Roger Blair serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
