Funeral services for Elmer Roy Keller of Hancock, MN will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be in the spring in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock, MN.
Elmer Roy Keller, son of Robert and Leona (Beiswanger) Keller, was born March 6, 1943 in Morris, Minnesota. He grew up north east of Hancock, where he attended country school. Following his schooling, Elmer farmed with his father on the family farm. On May 22, 1965 he was united in marriage to Karen Johnson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple had four children, David, Darren, Deborah and Denise, where they lived on the family farm near Lowry. After moving to Hancock, Elmer worked for Leonard Wulf and Sons. In 1989, Elmer started working as an over the road truck driver and also farmed. In 2009, he worked for Barry and Chuck Nelson Farms near Hancock. In 2014, Elmer moved to Alexandria, MN to live with his daughter Deborah, who cared for him in his last few months of life.
Elmer enjoyed ice fishing and fishing in the summer. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with this grandkids.
Elmer died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 6:11 p.m. at his daughter's home in Alexandria, MN. He lived to the age of 71 years.
Elmer is survived by his two sons: David (Melba Solis) Keller of Brady, TX and Darren (Terri) Keller of McGregor, TX; two daughters: Deborah Olson of Alexandria and Denise (Dale) Mehrkens of Thief River Falls; one sister: Peg Pieske of Cyrus; nine grandchildren: Adrianna Solis, Dawson Keller, Jesse, Ashley and Cotey Olson, Savannah Johnson, Bryce Keller and Kayle and Kelsey Mehrkens; three great-grandchildren: Maddisyn Spader, Kenzie and Kallie Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Anna Dallmann and one infant brother and sister.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
