Memorial services for Eloise Christianson of Sauk Centre, Minnesota will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will in Fron Lutheran Cemetery near Starbuck.
Eloise Lou Sundheim daughter of Edwin and Luella (Pederson) Sundheim was born April 5, 1937 on the family farm in Hoff Township in Pope County. She was baptized and confirmed at West Zion Lutheran Church. Eloise grew up and attended country school and later graduated from Starbuck High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Albert Christianson on June 11, 1955 at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. The couple raised their family in Stearns County, where Eloise worked at Jennie-O Turkey Plant in Melrose and at HiHo Café in Sauk Centre. She worked there for many years and was known as "Mom" by many customers. Eloise later retired and continued to live in Sauk Centre until the time of her death.
She enjoyed taking pictures, old time music, collecting bells, cooking, gardening, flowers, bird watching, playing bingo and cards. Eloise most of all enjoyed spending time with family at family events throughout the years.
Eloise died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. She lived to reach the age of 77 years.
She is survived by four children: Linda (Paul) Terwey of St. Cloud, Paul (Mary) Christianson of Savage, Earl (Ruth) Christianson of Eagan and Todd (Kandace) Christianson of Long Prairie; two sisters: Marge Stottler of Bloomfield, NE and Carol (Dennis) Hagen of Sunburg, MN; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Christianson; son, Alan Christianson; her parents; brothers: Leroy and Karl Sundheim; sisters-in-law: Karen Sundheim and Polly Haagenson; and brother-in-law: Glen Stottler
